Another Austin weird place to bite the dust.

It wasn’t about the food. No, I don’t think Cisco’s was in the top ten Tex Mex joints as far as food goes. But with photos of Bob Bullock, Darrell Royal, Walter Cronkite and well, Miss Kitty, on the wall, Cisco’s sported our kind of atmosphere. Like Liberty Lunch and so many great joints before it, it’s gonna go down.

It’s not the big bad landlord this time that’s shutting down an icon. It’s the owner himself. Clovis Cisneros has simply had enough. He’s tired of working 90 hours a week and stands to make enough money from the selling his building to never have to make his own migas again. I guess nothing lasts forever, so let’s wish him well and move on.
